Well, it’s basically what is implied in the name. All the heavy lifting is usually done for you, along with product creation, marketing pages, fulfillment and customer support.
These business models are great for beginners and online marketers stretched for time. They can save you a lot of money, and help build your authority in the marketplace as well.
The most common model is the franchise type offers. Just like becoming a franchisee in the offline world, the same holds true online. You simply invest in the business then pay a certain fee or license right for each sale or customer you bring in.
This is very appealing to many online today, and can be very lucrative if you team up with the right digital businesses. However, you need to be well aware of a lot of these done for you digital business systems running rampant online today. Many of them are don’t deliver any real product, but simply sell a “dream”.

The very first thing you should always look for when starting your research, is there a viable product or service being offered. Like I mentioned earlier, the majority of these DFY models simply sell the “dream” or “lifestyle”. If you do your due diligence and can’t find or figure out what exactly they are selling, then steer clear.
There is a very popular online business franchise being promoted hard online right now, (I’m sure you’ve seen it) that will be gone in just a matter of months because of the lack of genuine product or service offered. It’s basically nothing better than a pyramid scheme.
Another important thing to look at, is the Done For You Business a field or niche you want to actually spend your time in. I know this sounds weird, but you must really enjoy what you’re doing or it will not work. Sure you may get by for a little while, but you will burn out very quickly if it’s not something you’re very passionate about.
An example, about 2 years ago I partnered with my wife in a franchise business online. It was in the, wait for it… makeup industry, LOL. Of course, I thought I could stick with it because the income was decent but after a while, I couldn’t get the drive to continue. Heck, I don’t know the first thing about that world.
Finally, in my opinion, the main thing to look for when choosing a done for you digital business is the commission or payout structure. I researched a business system yesterday that was only going to pay me 10% commissions on the sales I brought in. This is insane. If I’m paying to be a franchisee, plus spending the time driving traffic to my business, there is no way I’m only going to collect 10 cents on the dollar.
Try to look for at least 50% commissions, preferably higher to give you the best return on your overall investment.
These are just a few things to look for when starting out online. You should always do your own digging and don’t be afraid to ask questions. You will be investing your time and money and need to get it right from the beginning to save you a lot of headaches down the road.
